In order to prepare for the film and TV business, we keep up to date with state-of-the-art professional hardware and software, and unlike many other schools with these kinds of programs, we not only encourage but we recommend getting your hands on the equipment your first semester.

Hardware: Canon 60D, Panasonic HVX200a, P2 Workflow, Camera Jibs/Tracks/SteadyCam
In the last year, we have converted to an entirely HD workflow, providing us with the ability to completely eliminate tape as well as switch over to a new digital server system, allowing a more efficient archiving process.
alt.news is a completely student-run television show at Southern Illinois University. Being so, this gives us a lot of creative freedom, which, over the last 10 or so years, has helped us become the award-winning show that we are today.
